Professor Alexander Lowy Student Resource Fund

It is exciting to announce the establishment of the Professor Alexander Lowy Student Resource Fund. We hope others in time will learn to appreciate its purpose and merit at Pitt. We expect that, over the years and with the kind support of family and friends, this will grow into a larger endowment to eventually become the Professor Alexander Lowy Scholarship Fund.

We were pleased to make an irrevocable gift of $15,000 to the University of Pittsburgh on Feb 15, 2012 in support of the University’s fundraising campaign. The conditions of our gift are specified on the Donor Designation Form just below.

This Fund is a fitting memorial for Professor Lowy’s internationally recognized accomplishments in the laboratory and his commitment to academic excellence. The Department of Chemistry attracts many high-achieving and remarkably talented students. We strongly believe the Fund will allow everyone to recognize Dr. Lowy’s legacy in perpetuity and it will provide extra support to promising undergraduates each year beginning in 2012.
